STAFF REPORT
The City of San Bernardino and the Governing Body of the City
of San Bernardino School District entered into a lease
agreement for a period of 99 years by document recorded July
18. 1945. for a portion of Meadowbrook Park located at Second
Street and Allen Street.
Subsequently. the City sUb-leased, for $1.00 per year, to the
Meadowbrook Amateur Boxing Academy for the use of one of the
buildings located at this site "for the purpose of conducting a
boxing program".
The ratification of this first amendment to sub-lease will
extend the Sub-lease for a five year period and will continue
on a year-to-year basis automatically unless terminated by
ei ther party.
The Park and Recreation Department has approved this amendment,
and we also recommend the approval.

EXECUTION AND RATIFICATION OF A FIRST AMENDMENT TO SUBLEASE WITH
3 MEADOWBROOK AMATEUR BOXING ACADEMY ORGANIZATION RELATING TO USE
OF MEADOWBROOK RECREATION CENTER FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING A
4 BOXING PROGRAM.
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

7 SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is
8 hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said City
9 a First Amendment to Sublease effective February 1, 1984, a copy
10 of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated
11 herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length.

FIRST AMENDMENT TO SUBLEASE
2 (Meadowbrook Recreation Center)
3 THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO SUBLEASE, effective February 1, 1984,
4 is ratified and entered into between the CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO,
5 a municipal corporation, ("Sublessor"), and MEADOWBROOK AMATEUR
6 BOXING ACADEMY ORGANIZATION, a California nonprofit corporation,
7 ("Sublessee").
8 The parties hereto agree as follows:
9 1. Recitals.

(a) Sublessor and Sublessee entered into a sublease for
11 use of the Meadowbrook Recreation Center for the purpose of
12 Sublessee conducting a boxing program.

(b) Sublessor and Sublessee desire to amend the
14 sublease to provide for a five-year extension of its term, and to
15 provide that the sublease will continue from year-to-year
16 thereafter unless terminated by either of the parties.
17 2. Amendments.

(a) Paragraph 3 of the sublease is amended to read as
19 follows:
20 "3. Term. The term of this sublease shall be for a period
21 of six years, commencing February 1, 1983."
22 (b) Paragraph 8 of the sublease is amended to read as
23 follows:
24 "8. Automatic Renew.al if no Notice is Given. This sublease
25 ill be automatically renewed from year-to-year unless terminated
26 by either party upon thirty (0) days I written notice."
27 3. Other Provisions. All other terms, conditions and
28 covenants of said sublease shall remain the same and be in full
