CIIf OF SAN BERNARDI~ - REQU.9r FOR COUNCIL AC~ON
STAFF REPORT
As a part of the development of Del Rosa Drive, between 9th and Baseline
Streets, the plans call for the installation of a traffic signal, A portion
of this intersection is within the County and, as such, the City needs a
cooperative agreement for the installation of the signal and to cover the
future costs associated with the operation and maintenance,
In addition to funds already in Account Number 242-362-57342, ($84,928), the City will
receive $342,796 of Regional FAU Funds for the construction of Del Rosa
Avenue from 9th to Baseline, including the installation of the signals, The
FAU funds have been approved by SANBAG, The agreement provides for County
participation in the maintenance but not in construction costs, Total funds
available should be adequate for all portions of the required work,
Staff has prepared a cooperative agreement, and it has been reviewed and
accepted by the County as to form, It is, therefore, recommended that the
Mayor and Council authorize the execution of this document allowing the
installation and maintenance on an equitable basis between the City and
County,
