STAFF REPORT
On August 13, 1985, bids ~ere opened for the maintenance of
landscaping in the median islands of Airport Drive between
Commercenter East and Commercenter West. A total of two bids
were received and were $4.000 and $5,736. The engineer's
estimate for this work was $2,000. -
Presently, the association that was maintaining the area was
having the work done for $1,800. ,
It is,_ therefore, recommended that the bids be rejected, -that
the purchasing Agent be instructed to solicit informal requests
from the original bidders as well as an expanded list to be
provided by the Public Works department and that the bidders'
be made aware of the area in question. It appears that .the
bidders have based their estimate on areas not included in
the assessment district and that are not to be maintained.
It is anticipated that there will be a job site meeting. tp
correct any misunderstanding. ,,[
