CI'" OF SAN BERNARDI" - REQU'" FOR COUNCIL ACtIoN STAFF REPORT BID SPEC: F-85-12 PROPOSED ACTION AWARD A CONTRACT TO ANGELICA RENTAL SERVICES GROUP, FOR FURNISHING UNIFORM SERVICE. BACKGROUND INFORMATION The proposed contract is for uniform service for approximately 175 design- ated City employees. In addition the proposed contract includes service for shop towels, dust clQlths, seat covers, and fender covers. Appropriate spec- ifications were prepared, published, and furnished to area uniform service com- panies. Bids were publicly opened and declared on March 21, 1985. Attached is a detailed summary of bids received. Specifications as bid were reviewed with a view toward obtaining the best possible uniform service at the lowest possible cost. The bid of Angelica Rental Services Group meets the specifications and requirements. It should be noted that this company has provided the City with uniform service over the past three years (note: reference name change from: Blue Seal Garment Rental Services To: Angelica Rental Services Group) and service has been excellent. In view of the foregoing and in consideration of the low bid it is recommended that the bid of Angelica Rental Services Group be accepted for contract. The term of the uniform rental contract shall be three years. The contract shall be subject to a "fiscal out clause" whereby the contract shall terminate at the end of any City fiscal year in the event Council does not allocate funds for the purpose of the contract. Appropriate funding is available in the various department budgets.
