Synopsis of Previous Council action:
1-21-85 __ Feasibility Report accepted and.fi~ed, $5,000 allocated to cover
architectural fees, and Director.of ~ublic Works/City Engineer directed
to issue Request for Proposal. to qualifi~d architects.
3-18-85 __ Resolution No. 85-107 adopted authorizing execution of an Agreement with.
Roger L. Grulke, Architect and Associates, Inc.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for the expansion of the Common Council Office area,
in accordance with Plan No. 6758, be approved; and the Director of
Public Works/City Engineer authorized to advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
The plans for the expansion have been prepared by Roger L. Grulke, Architect and
Associates, and the project is ready to be advertised for bids. The project consists,
in general, of constructing a floor from the elevator landing to the north, in order to
provide an adequate conference room and enhanced office area for Council Staff,
Li sted below is an estimate of the total project cost:

Engineering & Inspection 2,500
Sub-Total $ 70,373
Contingencies. (1.5%)~ 10,627
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 81,000
An amount of $5,000 was allocated, under Account No. 01-312-893, at the Council
Meeting of 1-21-85. Supplemental funds in the amount of $55,000 were subsequently
provided, for a total of available funds of $55,000. .
We recommend the plans be approved and authorization granted to advertise for bids.
URGENCY CLAUSE: It is vital that approval of these plans be secured at.the
earliest possible date in order that this very needed
expansion can be accomplished as soon as possible.
