Sources of funding are $1,000,000 from the Special Construction Fund and $100,000 from Commun- ity Development Block Grand Funds. Recommended motion: Motion #1: Upon final budget adoption that total funding of $1,100,000 for street re- surfacing be designated. Motion #2: Upon final budget adoption that 7 work orders each in the amount of $115,000 for each ward be issued and encumbered in the Public Services budget. Motion #3: Upon final budget adoption that $195,000 be allocated to the Public Services budget for resurfacing and/or reconstruction of major arteries. The Department of Public Services is recommending the following allocation of these funds: 1. $115,000 to be appropriated per counci1matic ward for residential resurfacing which will be encumbered by 7 work orders, for a total of $805,000. The Department of Public Services will be submitting the department's prior- ities for residential streets for each counci1person's review as in the previous years. 2. The remaining $295,000 to be allocated for the sole purpose of resurfacing major arteries which could include heat and remix scarifying and/or grinding and re- moval before resurfacing. The Department of Pub1 ic Services will be submitti.ng to the Honorable Mayor and Common Council a prioritized listing of major arteries.
