STAFF REPORT
This department' has received a request from Berzco Steel
Company to vacate a portion of 8elleview Street. west of Mt,
Vernon.
presently, the area requested to be vacated is undeveloped. and
the potential for development is limited due to the substantial
cost for a railroad crossing. The applicant intends to develop
the entire property north and south of Belleview, while the
area west of the railroad will maintain access from the west.
Belleview Street. west of the railroad. is also undeveloped.
Under present policy, staff would reserve an easement for
util Hies.
Approval to proceed will allow staff to proceed with the vaca-
tion of the area in question which includes contacting other
departments to determine what, if any, problems this vaction
might generate.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending that authorization be given to proceed
with the vacation proceeding for that portion of Belleview
Street in question.
