Dear Sirs:
Conditions are unsafe at the new commercial development west
of the San Bernardino Golf Club.
Planning commission report MS 498 directs that building design
shl.ll consider the potential problems inherent in building beside
a golf course. These buildings were constructed in complete
disregard of this.
Fencing and walling are severly deficient and add to the danger.
No consideration was given to the juxtaposition of the buildings
and golf course functionl as required in MS498 and repeated in MS600.
These buildings degrade, rather than enhance the development of the
City of San Bernardino. The buildings completely violate the clear
intentions of MS 498 and threaten the function (and perhaps the existence)
of the San Bernardino Golf Club.
The course has been severly compromised by this negligent
development. The course is an important public recreational facility
and is critical to the park like atmosphere of this large,
commercially developing area.
The presence of the course enables the near by properties to
be considered(park - golnproperties rather than sewer plant properties.
All the adjoining real estate is more valuable because of the presence
of the golf course as a park and sewer plant buffer zone.
It is essential that the use and on going construction of these
commercial buildings be halted until they are in compliance with
the intent and spirit of MS 498 and MS 600.
The very existence of The San Bernardino Public Golf Course
may depend on it.
