Holcomb City of San Bernardino 300 North "D" Street San Bernardino, CA 92418 Dear Mr. Mayor: As I am sure you know Cas a Ramona is a very old building. Last week during a routine check by the Gas Company seve- ral gas leaks were discovered. Naturally in the interest of safeoy our gas was shut off. Needless to say, the closure of our gas presents us with some major problems. First and foremost is our inability to prepare two hundred and fifty (250) Hot Meals for our Senior Citizens at Casa Ramona, Delman Heights, and High- land Senior Centers. These hot meals were currently being prepared here at Casa Ramona on a daily basis. We have taken the necessary measures to ensure these meals continue to be served although it is only a temporary solution. Based.on the Gas Company's recommendation the cost for re- pairs will exceed Nine Thousand Dollars ($9,000.00). I have asked the County to assist us with an emergency grant of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) and am likewise re- questing this assitance from the City. Senio~ Citizens from Highland, Delman Heights and Casa Ramona depend on us to provide this hot meal once a day. Your expeditious cooperation on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
