HomeMy WebLinkAboutS10-City Attorney 0 , 1 2 3 4 S 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 c IS 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 o 0 ORDINANCE NO. o ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION 18.40.380 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR CABLE TELEVISION INSTALLATION IN RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISIONS. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. San Bernardino Municipal 'Code Section 18.40.380 is amended to read: "18.40.380 Underground utility service for subdivisions. A. Utility lines, including, but not limited to, electric, communications, street lighting and cable television shall be required to be placed underground in accordance with the specifications of the public utility providing such services. The subdivider is responsible for complying with the requi~ements of this section, and he shall make the necessary arrangements with the utility companies for the granting of easements and installation of such facilities. Exceptions to the underground requirement are as follows: 1. Transformers, pedestal-mounted terminal boxes, meter cabinets and concealed ducts may be placed above ground if within the subdivision and are used solely in connection with the underground transmission or distribution lines. 2. Poles supporting electricity transmission lines, and the electricity transmission lines supported by such poles, may be situated above the surface of the ground if such lines are not connected to any distribution line situated within the subdivision and do not in any way serve any part of the subdivision. 3. The Mayor and Council may waive any requirement of 2 this section if topographical, soil or other similar physical Iconditions make such underground installation unreasonable or I I i impractical. I B. Subdividers shall make the necessary arrangements with 'cable television operators to comply with the following requirements with respect to cable television installation in residential subdivisions: 1. Pre-wire all building units~ and 2. Connect laterals to each building unit with a minimum of two outlets wired in each building unit~ and 3. Build "flush mounts" or "pedestals" as required by the cable television operator which will service the subdivision."
