STAFF REPORT
Engineering Division received a request from a citizen concerned
about traffic conditions at the intersection of University Parkway
and State Street.
A subsequent traffic engineering investigation was conducted. A
report of this investigation recommends improving the signing and
striping on University Parkway including the designation for an
exclusive right turn lane for Northbound traffic at State Street.
This recommendation was submitted to the Mayor's Traffic Safety
Committee on January 16, 1985 and unamiously approved.

STAFF REPORT
The City Traffic Engineering Section has received several recent citizen requests
responding to the lack of a "Right Turn Only" lane for Southbound traffic on Waterman
Avenue at Hospitality Lane, and resulting traffic confusion at the 1-10 Westbound
on- ramp.
Subsequent to a field investigation, our findings indicate that a designated "Right
Turn Only" lane is justified. There is also adequate existing street width to
accommodate the "Right Turn Only" lane by modifying and relocating existing striping
and signal loops. Their cost, estimated at $250 for striping and $500 for signal loop
relocation, will be borne through regular maintenance account.
Whereas this request was reviewed and subsequently approved by the Traffic Safety
Advisory Committee at their meeting December 5, 1984 to recommend the establishment of
an exclusive right turn lane for Southbound Waterman Avenue at Hospitality Lane.
