The contract was awarded for the low bid price of $120,839.50. The actual final contract price is $155,242.02, due to the increase in amount of asphalt concrete placed, over the estimated amount in the contract documents, and the additional concrete for sidewalks authorized by contract Change Order No. One. The Contractor billed for 778 cubic yards of Portland Cement Concrete. We have calculated that only 690.1 cubic yards were actually needed for the amounts of curbs and gutters, driveway approaches and sidewalk installed. The proposed final estimate is based upon the quantity of 690.1 cubic yards of concrete, which is all we can justify. We recommend the work be aqproved and accepted, and final payment be authorized at the expiration of the lien period. 15-0264
