CLOSED SESSION A) CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Initiation of litigation (Pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(4)) City Attorney Sonia Carvalho announced that there was an item of litigation on Closed Session and that it was a follow up to an item taken back in June to consider the potential filing of litigation to recover city funds. At this time the Mayor and City Council convened into Closed Session. The Regular Meeting of the Mayor and City Council was called to order at 7:02 p.m. INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Pastor Ron Esparza from Living Water Community Church led the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. CLOSED SESSION REPORT City Attorney Sonia Carvalho stated there was no reportable action from Closed Session. CITY MANAGER UPDATE At this time, City Manager Rob Field provided citywide updates. MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL UPDATES & CONFERENCES/MEETINGS ATTENDED At this time, the Mayor and City Council spoke on community events they attended and upcoming community events. PRESENTATIONS 1. San Bernardino/Redlands Passenger Rail Project Update by San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (All Wards) Tim Watkins from the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority gave a presentation to the Mayor and City Council. 2. National Veterans and Military Families Month (All Wards) Mayor Valdivia read into the record the proclamation honoring National Veterans and Military Families. PUBLIC COMMENTS FOR ITEMS LISTED AND NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA At this time public comments were heard. Approve draft map(s) for circulation to the public for comment. Roberson to the Public Safety and Human Relations Commission representing Ward 5. Mr. Roberson will replace Daniel E. Peeden with the term ending December 2024. Council Staff has verified that appointee is a registered voter within the City. This term will end once the City’s ward map, based upon the 2020 US Census data, is adopted by the Mayor and City Council.
