Public comment for agenda Item 14 To: Mayor and City Council Members I am delighted to share my experience with the W.I.N. and their program Women in Trade (W.I.T.) program, an empowering journey that has not only transformed my professional outlook but has also opened doors to unprecedented opportunities. When I joined W.I.T., I had a passion for my trade, but navigating the complexities of government procurement and certification processes seemed like an insurmountable challenge. However, the support and guidance I received from the Women in Trade program were nothing short of extraordinary. One of the standout aspects of my journey with W.I.T. was the comprehensive training on minority business certification and the intricacies of government bid opportunities. The program not only demystified the certification process but also equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the procurement landscape successfully. The mentorship and resources provided by Women in Trade were instrumental in helping me achieve minority business certification. This certification has not only elevated my business profile but has also positioned me to take advantage of government bid opportunities. The program's commitment to fostering women's success in traditionally male-dominated fields has truly made a difference in my professional life. As a result of W.I.T.'s guidance, I have successfully secured government contracts, expanding the horizons of my business beyond what I thought was possible. The program's emphasis on practical skills, coupled with networking opportunities, has empowered me to confidently pursue and secure contracts that align with my expertise. For any woman aspiring to navigate the world of government procurement and minority business certification, I wholeheartedly recommend Women in Trade. The program not only equips you with the knowledge needed for success but also provides a supportive community that understands the unique challenges women face in the business world. Thank you, Women in Trade, for being the catalyst for my success, and for empowering women like me to thrive in industries where our voices deserve to be heard. The impact of this program is not just seen in certifications and contracts but in the confidence and resilience it instills in every woman who walks through its doors. Natalie Trota
