Speaker slips must be turned in to the Secretary. You may email your request to speak to billbe_wa@sbcity.org prior to 2:30 p.m. Each request will cover one speaker. Those who wish to speak must submit their own request to be called on by the Chairperson. o There is a 3-minute-per-person time limit for all comments, excluding quasi-judicial hearings. o Written comment on any item may also be submitted to the Secretary to be included in the meeting record. It will not be read aloud by the Secretary. o Those who wish to speak on public or quasi-judicial hearing items will have three minutes for each item. o All who wish to speak, including Commissioners and staff, need to be recognized by the Chairperson or Vice -Chairperson before speaking. o Please contact the secretary, Wanda Billbe (909) 384-1304 ext. 1506 two working days prior to the meeting for any requests for reasonable accommodation to include interpreters. o All documents for public review are on file with the City Clerk's Office or may be accessed online by going to www.sbcity.org. 0 Please turn off or mute your cell phone while the meeting is in session. Regular Meeting Agenda September 14, 2022 CALL TO ORDER PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL PUBLIC COMMENTS FOR ITEMS LISTED AND NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA A three -minute limitation shall apply to each member of the public who wishes to address the Animal Control Commission on any item on the agenda, excluding public hearings. There is no limit to the number of items that may be discussed within the three -minute time limit. To be called on by the Chairperson, please turn in individual speaker slips to the Secretary by 2:30 p.m. the day of the meeting. If you wish, you may email your speaking request to billbe wa(a�sbcity.org prior to the beginning of the meeting. Emailed requests to speak will not be accepted from anyone but the person requesting to speak. Department Updates Director, Kristine Watson provided an oral report with Department updates, discussed staffing, conferences and training, facility updates and neighborhood association meetings. 2. By: Wanda Billbe Animal Control Commission of the City of San Bernardino Page 2 September 10, 2022 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ANIMAL SERVICES MEMORANDUM TO: Animal Control Commissioners FROM: Kris Watson, Animal Services Director SUBJECT: Update to Commission on Animal Services DATE: September 14, 2022 Staffing We held interviews for the Animal Services Representatives last week and will be sending offers to two of the candidates. The Canvasser (Animal License Inspector) interviews are scheduled for next week and the RVT position interviews will be held at the end of the month. We are waiting for HR to send us the candidates from the Veterinarian position. Facility Update Public Works will be installing a concrete pad at the shelter to house our mobile veterinary unit. They will also be installing a concrete pad in the current barnyard area where we hope to expand the number of dog kennels at the facility. The barnyard will be moved and new pipe corrals installed to house any livestock or chickens. Festival The City is having a celebration of cultures on October 8, 2022. There will be an Animal Village with a petting zoo, raptor show and reptile booth. We are working on securing additional non -profits to have educational booths and resources available to residents. We do need volunteers to work the event, please let Wanda or Kris know if you are interested in helping out!
