To those concerned: I do not believe immediate eviction is ever a solution but creates more of an
extended problem. There have been too many short-sighted measures taken in dealing with the
houseless, which frankly appears to be more of a punishment for having this condition than for any
practical considerations. These families are working families who have no place to go. If the eviction
goes through you have children who will have no shelter at all and then are subjected to street
conditions which for the most part can have a worse effect , than where they are. Any type of
removal measure is not responsibly executed unless done with full consideration of the well being of
the human beings inside. Increasing the number of houseless families on the street is never a good
thing, there are too many desperate and at times predatorial persons on the streets, who are
already in an increased frustrated state. I understand that these families were supposed to receive
financial support to help this very difficult transition, and this has been for some reason delayed.
Giving these families more time to transition (end of the month at least), will ensure a more orderly
and safe transition, as there would be more time to find resources that would help them. I believe all
attempts to secure these resources must be undertaken with an actual plan to make this happen or
it is an irresponsible act which will lead to negative repercussions to the community. I urge you
fervently to reconsider the eviction and come up with a plan that serves the best needs of the
community as a whole instead of just serving the needs or wishes of a few.
Warmly,
