Re: American Rescue Plan / Pay for City of San Bernardino Essential Workers To: City Manager, Mayor & City Council Members All City of San Bernardino employees that worked during the Covid-19 Pandemic put their health at risk everyday that they came to work to provide essential services to the public and to keep the city government in operation. Our City employees deserve essential work pay comparable to ranges given in other Inland Empire cities. Redland employees reportedly will receive up to $6,000.00 per person, Banning employees up to $7,050.00 per person, and Hemet employees will be paid in a range of $2,500.00 to $ 5,000.00 per person. City of San Bernardino employees kept the City functioning during the bankruptcy, the evacuation/permanent move of City Hall, and again during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Many of these employees worked at great risk to their health and many became infected with COVID -19. Employees who worked beyond the call of duty deserve fair and just compensation.
