As a proud Teamster and public employee, I’m proud to stand with my union as it negotiates a Community Benefits agreement that can guarantee affordable housing, clean infrastructure, better-paying jobs, and further community input at this crucial development. Vote yes on the ENA to move this City forward!” I am a resident of the city of San Bernardino and and employee of the County of San Bernardino and many of my co workers work for the county but live elsewhere because of lack of affordable housing. I am looking to buy a home soon but it will more than likely not be in San Bernardino but one of the surrounding cities. It is so sad because I love the city but I do not feel like the city loves me or my family. -----Original Message----- From To: Sent: Tue, Aug 17, 2021 1:26 pm Subject: Steward meeting and Comment for SB City Carousel Mall Redevelopment CBA Good afternoon Stewards, If you have registered for the Steward meeting, you should have received an email with the Zoom link. Please check your emails and let me know if you have not received the link. Below is some very important information regarding the City of San Bernardino. Please look at the attached flyer and read the information below: Local 1932 is on the cusp of negotiating a Community Benefits Agreement securing affordable housing, better jobs, clean infrastructure, and further community input at the planned redevelopment of the Carousel Mall in San Bernardino. Developers plan to convert it into a mixed-use downtown area, but it must occur with guarantees in place! On Wednesday night, SB City Council will vote on the next part of the development process — an exclusive negotiation agreement (ENA) between the City and the Developers. This must happen before Local 1932 and community allies (a coalition called Something Better for San Bernardino) can proceed on a Community Benefits Agreement. You can help your union get there by sending this emailed comment to SB City before the Wednesday 4 PM deadline: “My name is ……….. and I support a YES vote on the Carousel Mall redevelopment ENA.
