Good evening honorable mayor and council Thank you for the opportunity to submit a written statement on this item. My name is Jose Garcia and I am a proud member of the Laborers union for over 33 years. I want speak against the proposed warehouse moratorium for several reasons. First this moratorium would cause a negative effect on construction workers through out San Bernardino county and workers throughout California. Not only does this affect the workers but their families too. This is the worst possible time to do this because families and workers are just recovering from the past pandemic year. This will also cause a negative effect on our local and statewide economy because workers will have to rely on unemployment benefits if available, many workers exhausted there benefits in the last year due to the pandemic and the shortage of jobs in the construction industry. It will also negatively affect local vendors and companies, builders and developers that provide jobs in our community in this industry. Please consider the hard working men and women and families that depend on this industry and all others the will feel the negative effect from a where house moratorium. Thank you for your time and please vote against any type of where house moratorium good night and thank you.
