Hello,
I am writing to urge you to vote in support of the temporary moratorium on new warehouses.
I work in the city of San Bernardino and live in Redlands. The warehouses bring increased truck
traffic and air and noise pollution to working class communities of color who already bear the
cost of environmental contamination. As an anthropologist that has studied environmental
injustices in Ecuador, I support jobs and forms of development that are not going to add to the
class, gender, and racialized health disparities already facing our communities. It is for this
reason that I support a moratorium on warehouse and urge you to do so as well. We need
time to assess the best ways of balancing economic growth with environmental
protection. The health of our community is at immediate risk!
Sincerely,
Teresa
