Hello,
My name is Jonny Miller and I am a community advocate in San Bernardino. I am
urging you to support a warehouse moratorium that will place a temporary pause on
logistics development to better evaluate our community needs. For the sake of our
health, air, and quality of life, we need a warehouse moratorium NOW! The
community demands you to put a stop to reckless development that only benefits
wealthy investors, polutes our air, and replaces our workers with machines. We
want you bring good jobs to our city and prioritize worker-owned cooperatives,
union jobs, and black, brown, indigenous, and queer-owned businesses. We ask that
new industries that come to the city have community benefits agreements that
prioritize the needs and health of the people. We have the WORST air quality in the
nation. Build affordable housing, create community land trusts, more parks and
community centers, and plant community gardens.
-- Thank you for your time.
