Hello Good afternoon,
My name is Justine Obiakor, I am a San Bernardino resident and I am writing this to be read during
public comment. I understand that today City Council will be voting on more developers coming into
the community to build warehouse. I am expressing my support of a warehouse moratorium. I was
present at the airport meeting in January 2020 when they were rapidly pushing for developers like
Hillwood to build a Amazon warehouse at the city airport without a community benefits agreement.
It saddens me that the City Legislative officials push to develop warehouses without a community
benefits agreement and taking time to review data from environmental scientists’ data that shows
the direct impact on air quality and neighbor hoods next to warehouse due to increased pollution.
Our kids should not have to stay inside because of increased air pollution and air filters needed to
compensate for the additional air pollution from these warehouse. I highly encourage the Council to
vote on a warehouse moratorium today in favor of stopping warehouses from being developed until
actions are taken to address the air pollution and a community benefit agreement is made.
Best,
Justine Obiakor
