I looked at these proposals and these developers know nothing about the city of San Bernardino. It all sounds good in these countless paragraphs about how wonderful it will be and how the city will make money and it'll be environmentally friendly blah blah blah. It's par for the course from these Developers. Last I heard there was someone of a water restriction in San Bernardino and it's so bad that the city can't even keep the Mountain View Parkway green or the trees alive for lack of water. Yet these proposals all talk about Green Space and one of them even has grass on the roof and there's trees all over the place so who's going to pay for water to keep this all green? And who's going to come into the city of San Bernardino with its crime statistics and rent an apartment for what the would need to ask to make any money? I can see these apartments being rented to Section 8 people not that I'm putting them down but San Bernardino has a history of Section 8 Single Moms with Gangster boyfriends hanging around Etc. There are plenty of empty land south of there closer to Mill Street area where we can build Apartments and these people can take a bus if they want to go downtown because it goes right there on E Street. All this green space seating in fancy lounging areas will be mostly used by the homeless people. I don't see anything in these proposals that's going to bring the kind of Revenue that the city is desperately in need of. An entertainment hub, a destination venue would bring revenue. Apartments won't.,put tbose more outside of this area. Closer to Waterman. Including the CA theater, movie theater,Harris Bldg (restaurants and shops) an arena and hotel, would make SB a go,to place for entertainment. A small riverwalk around it would add to its uniqueness. A George Strait concert, for Instance, would bring people from all over to stay at a hotel, eat and shop at electric shops they walk to ... Out of town guests going to a play at CA theater, too. Just think! A weekend of entertainment where you shop,eat,sleep... Don't ruin it with affordable housing. SB needs some high end revenue producing capabilities. Keep housing on the outskirts of downtown. You won't get high end apartment dwellers for awhile in SB, not until the ghetto/crime reputation goes away once an arena, entertainment hub gets off the ground and it becomes known for something better.
