Thank you for your time. To get started, I think that the carousel mall site is in a prime
location in the heart of the city of San Bernardino. The fact that it is no longer in use, or dead,
mimics the vibe of the area and the city in general. There is no central location one can go to
in thus city that seems to unite all residents. I think the redevelopment of the mall will help in
that, but it must be done well with, not only the developers, investors, and builders in mind,
but to include a long term solution with the residents in mind. The Grove and the Americana
are examples of what a well developed or succesful redeveloped area look like. There are
different Southern California cities that have redeveloped or transformed their neighborhoods
or shopping area to be very successful. Examples are Alhambra, San Gabriel, Whittier, Long
Beach, Ontario, Riverside, and others. It is important to note that, yes, San Bernardino was
named an All American City, but that was in the past. Times have changed and the city has not
kept up. We need to leave the so-called glory day of San Bernardino in the past and start
looking at the new glory the city can obtain in the future. Thank you for your time once again.
