Subject: MCC 11-4-2020 CLOSED SESSION AGENDA ITEM 6920 Palm Avenue
San Bernardino Mayor Valdivia, City Manager Field, and SB council members,
My husband and I have lived in Verdemont for 23 + years. We love our neighbors and neighborhood. We hate what is trying to
be shoved down our throats with development that is not supported by solid infrastructure, just for the sake of city revenue.
The developer for the project at 6920 Palm Avenue didn't have permission to dump the broken concrete and grind it on-site.
Oxbow was in violation of their agreement with the TUP and the TUP has been breached in at least five areas. The developer has
also considered ways to make money off of this project - and those ways are not in the best interest of the residents here in
Verdemont - crushing and selling off the aggregate that was going to be ground on-site. It would be in the developer's own best
interest, lining their pockets... Not only would there be unhealthy dust that would come from this undertaking, but also the noise
this would create for those living on the properties immediately bordering this project would possibly be greater that what is legal
decibel levels for a residential area.
Perhaps the District Attorney should be brought in, since the developer may be making a fraudulent move in dumping
contaminated debris and letting the city take the blame.
We've seen a lot of development come to our area over the 23 + years. We realize that new homes and development are going to
happen. We understand there will be growth. The issue is that it needs to be done correctly and properly within a well-designed
plan and a solid infrastructure to support the growth. The past projects haven't been supported by solid infrastructure. We don't
want to see this repeated.
I ask that you do what is right and honorable for the residents of Verdemont and ultimately, for the residents of San Bernardino.
Thank you
Denise Casas
