Hello public officials elected by the San Bernardino residents,
I am a long time San Bernardino resident. I grew up in this community. I was delighted when street vendors were given
the opportunity to make a living without being criminalized. With as much poverty is seen around the city it was so nice to
see people working hard and being left alone by authorities. However, I see the city wants to now criminalize it. On top of
that, Officers are seen destroying vendor property and taking the law into their hands. This is unacceptable. In a time
when the economy is taking a turn for the worst, 3 million dollars are missing from our children's education, people are
becoming homeless, our government system is rearing its corrupt head, and the faith in the police department is non
existent, I feel there are much more important issues at hand. Stop this criminalization and do what is expected as
elected officials. Work on how to give the children a fighting chance with a true and rich education, keep homlessness
from happening that will be furthered with this action. Some people only have this income.
Have compassion,
Anaiz Ruiz
