Good evening,
My name is Cristian Siguenza, I am new resident to the city of San bernardino. I have some concern regarding the
Public Works in my neighborhood. I have several issues that I have brought up numerous times but have not been
addressed.
1. The sidewalk in front of my home has been damaged by trees and has caused a tripping hazard and according to
ADA laws it is not compliant with. If an accident were to happen who would be responsible? The sidewalk is about
20 inches high and there might be a risk that the pluming from the sewage system might get damage.
2. There are trees that have not been trim in several years, according to neighbors who have been here a longer
time. The same trees cover the street light that cause the street to be very dark and potentially may introduce
delinquency or crime due to the darkness of the street.
3. I also put in a request for one of the street lamps to be fix since it is not working. This is located on the
South/East corner of Cleveland St and San Benito Ave.
4. I want to make a recommendation that I hope the City Council might take into consideration or maybe it’s
already in process. There is a vacant lot East of Macy St between 6th and Spruce, which I am wondering if there
has ever been a discussion on what can be done here? As I stated I am new to the city but has the possibility of a
public playground or mini park ever been brought up to that area? I have not seen any parks close to this area for
children to enjoy. Maybe this would be a good idea to consider for future plans.
Thank you,
Cristian Siguenza
