HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-290Resolution No. 2019-290 RESOLUTION NO. 2019-290 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF PURCHASE ORDERS TO FAIRVIEW FORD SALES, INC., DURATECH USA, INC., AND WEST COAST LIGHTS & SIRENS, INC., IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $710,000 FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLICE VEHICLES AND RELATED SAFETY EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, the County of San Bernardino Sheriffs Department has selected Fairview Ford Sales, Inc., for the purchase of new law enforcement vehicles through a competitive bid process and Fairview Ford has agreed to sell the same type of vehicles to the City of San Bernardino for the same established price; and WHEREAS, the City selected DuraTech USA Inc. through formal bid F-19-27 in January of 2019; and WHEREAS, the City entered into a Vendor Services Agreement with West Coast Lights & Sirens, Inc., with a one single -year renewal option through June 30, 2020; and WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino has determined that it is advantageous and in the best interest of the City to purchase police vehicles and related safety equipment from Fairview Ford Sales, Inc., DuraTech USA Inc., and West Coast Lights & Sirens, Inc. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to issue an annual Purchase Order to Fairview Ford Sales, Inc., in an amount not to exceed the following amounts, $492,000, for the purchase of police vehicles, $69,000 to DuraTech USA for the purchase of Mobile Data Computers (MDC) and related equipment, and $179,000 to West Coast Lights and Sirens, Inc., for the purchase and installation of related safety equipment. SECTION 2. That the City Council finds this Resolution is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in that the activity is covered by the general rule that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. Where it can be seen with certainty, as in this case, that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment, the activity is not subject to CEQA. SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this Resolution or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are declared to be severable. SECTION 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately. APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Co by the City Clerk this 18th day of September 2019.
