IV. Project Description /Need Statement:
We would love to be able to hire outside performance groups to perform at our school wide pep rallies for the 2 -17-
2018 school year. We hold four pep rallies during the school year that the entire school attends during the school
day. This year we hosted a "Dia de los Muertos" event for our students that featured a performance by Danza
Aztecs. The students were so excited to experience and share a part of their culture, which I would LOVE to be
able to make this a focus for the next school year. We would love to use any of the funds to expose our student
population to culturally relevant performances and themes. Our ASB class also works closely special education
population in providing dances and activities throughout the entire year. We would love to use these funds to
continue to provide events as well as expand the student groups involved.

IX. Future Objectives:
To promote school spirit, cultural awareness, self- awareness, community service, and exposure to
cultural diversity.
X. Provide a brief history/background of your organization /school project (s). (What you have done before in
this category of the arts.
ASB or student leadership has been a part of Rialto High School since the doors opened in 1992. Our group
provided the expected activities such as school dances and pep rallies since the beginning. The past two years,
however, we have focused on wanting to create a school community on our campus and a respect for the culture,
backgrounds, and experiences of all of our Knights. We have brought outside groups onto our campus to
showcase different music, dance, language, and food. We were excited to spark some interest in creating student
run dance groups focusing on Afro - Brazilian and Polynesian styles.
