V. Project Description/Need Statement Street Glyphics is a street art competition by Untapped Hip Hop geared towards young artist in San Bernardino Ca., the event will take place on Saturday September 16 from 11 am to 5pm. Street Glyphic will consist of live music, food, vendors, art demos and an art competition for 9 contestants (3) spray paint artist, (3) acrylic artist, & (3) marker artist. All artists will have will have 4 hours to complete an art piece on site for the chance to win a potential scholarship to the Art Institute California - Inland Empire, we will also have 3 local artist from San Bernardino come in to put their artwork onto 3 different commercial trash bins to be placed around the city of San Bernardino. This will be to show off the talents of local artist who live in the city of San Bernardino as well as to help beautify the city. We would like to hold the event on the stage area and parking lot on Court Street outside of San Bernardino City Hall on September 16,2017, the event will be free and open for the community to attend and cheer on the young artist participating in the competition, all while enjoying the food and vendor services provided. This being our third event in the city of San Bernardino we would like to grow and provide more entertainment, more vendors, 3 commercial garbage bins as canvases for the demo artist, and possibly a larger scholarship for the grand prize. What we will need to make this happen is $10,000 for the cost of supplies such as paint, canvases, prize support, food, entertainers, & etc. (list of budget will be provided in the packet). After our last events we took our data and we are now looking forward to implementing what we have learned from the community into our next event, and to continue growing Street Glyphics into a must attend event in San Bernardino. Future Objectives 11 Fn 6z-- IX. Future Objectives If we cannot receive the amount we have requested from the Fine Arts Council, our plan to make up the remainder of the budget is to look for a sponsorship from local art supply stores & clothing shops that are involved with the hip hop and street art culture (i.e. Acrylic, R &D Artist Supplies, & Flat Black Artist Supplies). Our last resort to make up the funds if need be is Go Fund Me, the reason this is the last resort is because we feel as though we more notoriety and a larger following for this really to make a Go Fund Me really beneficial. Other than that we will be paying out of our pockets to make this event work. 1i XI. CERTIFICATION: Provide a brief history/background of your organization /school project (s). Brief History / Background of Our Organization Street Glyphics 2016 was the first event thrown with the help of the Fine Arts Commission. It was a successful turnout with about 300 people from the community that showed up, 9 competitors in the competition, 13 vendors, and 3 demo artist. Out of those 300 participants form the community that came to enjoy the festivities 80 of them were apart of our survey, the survey was on the overall experience they had at Street Glyphics. We learned a lot about how to better our upcoming event and look forward to implement what we have learned, while adding onto Street Glyphics by having more performances, activities, and vendors involved with our next event. The last Street Glyphics event was met with an awesome amount of positive feed back, and we believe it's is something that can grow and take root in the city of San Bernardino just based off of the comments received for weeks after the event, attendees wanting to know when the next one is and artist wanting to sign up for the next event. Street is growing and we believe with a larger budget for our next event we can exceed the expectations of the Fine Arts Committee & community.
