COMMISSIONER/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS Chairperson Garcia read a thank you card from Symphonie Jeunesse. City Clerk Hanna announced that the Sinfonia Mexicana would be performing the National Anthem at the Council Meeting of June 20, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. Commissioner Segura announced that the Political Cartooning Workshops would begin on July 11, 2016, and continue until October 3, 2016; beginning October 3, 2016 until November 3, 2016 (twice per week) there would be a second session. These workshops would be held at the San Bernardino Garcia Center for the Arts at 6:00 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Howard to approve the Minutes of May 10, 2016. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Seeger. The Motion passed unanimously. GUEST SPEAKERS None Fine Arts Commission — June 14, 2016 Page Two NEW BUSINESS Art Night Plans for October 7 2016 — Meeting, June 29, 2016 Chairperson Garcia reported that there would be a meeting on June 29, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall to discuss the next Art Night scheduled tentatively for October 7, 2016. She indicated that this would be for community artists and there was discussion about the artists possibly selling their art. Grantees FY 2016/2017 — received checks OLD BUSINESS Grantee's Evaluation Commissioners reviewed the Grant Evaluation letters that were received by the San Bernardino Symphony, Junior University, and Bradley Elementary School. A motion was made by Commissioner Segura to re -send Grant Evaluation letters to the grantees. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Howard. The motion passed unanimously. IM, Inc. A motion was made by Commissioner Babcock to move forward without funding IM, Inc. the Fine Arts grant. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Segura. The motion passed unanimously. Windows Project Chairperson Garcia stated that several letters were mailed, but to date there had not been a response. Fish Eves — Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre Commissioners discussed possible sites for the project. Clerk Hanna suggested the Water Resources Institute at Cal State University as a possible venue. Clerk Hanna stated that she would contact the Dean of the Library at Cal State University, Omnitrans, and San Bernardino Water District to see if they would be interested in the proposed project. Fine Arts Commission — June 14, 2016 Page Three Art Night Review Chairperson Garcia thanked the commissioners for volunteering at Art Night 2016. She said that there were many positive comments about the event. Arts Calendar for June 2016 PUBLIC COMMENTS None ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 4:53 p.m. on June 14, 2016.
