OLD BUSINESS Grants Application Revision — Update of Timeline The Fine Arts Commissioners reviewed the proposed revisions of the Application Guidelines for Funding Requests. A motion was made by Commissioner Babcock to approve the Grant Application with revisions. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Segura. Motion passed. PUBLIC COMMENTS None ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned October 29, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. The next Fine Arts Commission meeting will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 4:00 p.m., in the MIC Room, Sixth Floor of San Bernardino City Hall. Montoya Deputy City Clerk FINE ARTS COMMISSION DRAFT MINUTES FOR THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 109 2015 In Attendance: Erika Murphy, Mayor's Office Commissioners: Dorothy Garcia, Chairperson Deborah Bunger Donna Howard Olena Ohiy Michael Segura Bronica Taylor Absent: Barbara Babcock Lynette Kaplan Meeting called to order by Chairperson Garcia on Thursday, November 10, 2015 at 4:03 p.m. in the 4ch Floor Conference Room of City Hall. COMMISSIONER/STAFF ANNOUNCMENTS Commissioner Segura announced the opening of the Cultural Arts Center on November 14, 2015 from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m. He also announced that there would be a conference on The Arts to Save San Bernardino on November 17, 2015 at the Cultural Arts Center. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Segura to approve the Minutes of October 13, 2015. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Howard. Motion passed. NEW BUSINESS Grants Evaluation Process Discussion was made in regards to the grant evaluation process for the grant recipients. Chairperson Garcia asked if any of the commissioners would be willing to put a plan together for the evaluation process of grant recipients. A motion was made by Commissioner Segura to send out grant evaluations to the 2015 grant recipients by March 1, 2016. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Bunger. Motion passed. Fine Arts Commission — Page Two November 10, 2015 OLD BUSINESS Grants Application Timeline — Reminder and process for distributing A motion was made by Commissioner Bunger to add the following language "this is not a Rialto Unified sponsored grant" on grant applications for the three Rialto schools in Ward 3. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Segura. Motion passed. Report on Multicultural Festival — Bronica Taylor Commissioner Taylor asked commissioners what their thoughts were in regards to continuing with this event since the City was also planning a similar event for April, May, and June. Chairperson Garcia gave an update on the Art Walks discussion which was held at the San Bernardino Unified School District. A motion was made by Commissioner Bunger to continue discussion of the Multicultural Festival to December 8, 2015. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Segura. Motion passed. Art Walks Chairperson Garcia gave a report on the meeting she attended at the San Bernardino School District regarding the Art Walks. Chairperson Garcia suggested inviting Mark Persico, Director of Community Development to speak at the next Fine Arts Commission meeting on December 8, 2015. November Calendar Untapped Hip -Hop Proposal (if a letter of support is received from IAI) No action taken. PUBLIC COMMENTS Chairperson Garcia read a letter from Council Member Shorett requesting that the remainder of his micro -grant balance be granted to the San Bernardino Valley Concert Association for the new Culture Art Center.
