HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-3521 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 82-352 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNAR- DINO OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL 1353 (PAPAN). WHEREAS, The Governor's Outdoor Advertising Advisory Committee was created to study methods to resolve differences between local governments and billboard companies concerning billboard control, enforcement and compensation, and WHEREAS, the Committee's recommendations are contained within Assembly Bill AB 1353 (Papan), which is currently before the legislature, and WHEREAS, passage of this bill would greatly restrict a local government's control of billboard enforcement, especially in commercial and industrial zones within its jurisdiction, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino that the City of San Bernardino is opposed to the passage of Assembly Bill AB 1353 (Papan). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized and directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the League of California Cities, Governor Jerry Brown, Assemblyman Terry Goggin, Assemblyman William Leonard, and Senator Ruben Ayala.
