CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
TO: Honorable Mayor & Members of the Common Council
FROM: Rachel G. Clark, City Clerk
DATE: August 11, 1998
RE: Designation of Voting Delegate for League of California Cities Annual
Conference October 2 - 4, 1998, Long Beach, California.
The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for Friday, October 2 through
Sunday, October 4, 1998, in Long Beach. One very important aspect of the Annual Conference
is the General Business Meeting when the membership takes action on conference resolutions.
Annual conference resolutions guide cities and the League in efforts to improve the quality,
responsiveness and vitality of local government in California.
To expedite the conduct of business at the above-referenced policy-making meeting, the League
has requested that each City designate a voting representative and an alternate who will be
present at the Annual Business Meeting on Saturday, October 3, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. at the Long
Beach Convention Center.
Since the Mayor has indicated that she will be attending the conference, she will be
designated as the voting delegate; however, the Mayor and Council need to designate an alternate
voting delegate in the event the Mayor is not able to attend the conference.
