STAFF REPORT
Subject: Request for Refund of Temporary Use Permit Fee

Mayor and Common Council Meeting of October 5, 1998
Applicant:

Ronald McDonald House
11365 Anderson Street
Loma Linda, CA 92354
REQUEST
The Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House proposes to hold a mini Grand Prix car race and car
show on Sunday, October 4, 1998 at Inland Center Mall to raise funds for its program.
Arrangements have been made for police, fire, and refuse services through its many volunteers
and supporters.
The Ronald McDonald House has had similar functions at its facility in Loma Linda, but chose
San Bernardino for this event to bring exposure to the City.
Ronald McDonald House would like to use the TUP fee to further support its programs. It
charges families $5 per night to stay at the facility and the TUP fee would cover approximately
62 nights. Chapter 3.13 of the Municipal Code provides for fee waivers and refunds for
charitable organizations.
COSTS TO CITY
The Temporary Use Permit application and $308 fee were submitted on September 8, 1998. No
other permits or fees were required for this application.
MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OPTIONS
The Mayor and Common Council may approve the refund of$308; or
The Mayor and Common Council may deny the refund of$308.
