HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-047 I !I f 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS FOR AND THE PREPARATION OF NECESSARY 3 ( DOCUMENTS FOR THE EXCHANGE OF LAND WITHIN THE CENTRAL CITY NORTH ( EXPANSION SURVEY AREA FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A BUILDING FOR THE a SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION WITHIN THE CENTRAL CITY NORTH REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA. 5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY 6 OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS : I 7 SECTION 1. Recitals. i 8 (a) The Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Bernardino! q California, is the owner of Parcels 134-131-06 and 15 , located I I 10 jwithin the Central City North Redevelopment Project Area, and which I 11 is under lease to the City of San Bernardino , for the Central City 12 Parking District by lease dated February 1, 1977; 13 (b) The Redevelopment Agency Board is desirous of relocat- ' 14 ing the Social Security Administration in a building within the i 15 downtown area of the City of San Bernardino so as to best serve 16 the citizens of the community; 17 (c) The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has I 18 agreed to the relocation of the Social Security Administration to 19 and on said Parcels 134-131-06 and 15 ; 20 (d) GSA is presently under contract with Shane Realty for I 21 the development of a building for the Social Security Administra- 22 tion on property owned and being acquired by Shane Realty identi- 23 fied as Parcels 140-291-10 & 11 , located on the northeast corner 24 of 7th and Arrowhead Avenues; 25 (6) Parcels No. 140-291-10 & 11 are located within the 26 City of San Bernardino ' s Central City North Expansion Survey Area; 27 (f) It is the intent of this resolution to effectuate the 28 exchange of Agency owned Parcels 134-131-06 and 15 for Parcels �, f ,I I I I f 't 1 140-291-10 and 11, currently located within the Central City North ' 2 Expansion Survey Area, for the development of a building for the 1 3 iSocial Security Administration within the downtown area. 4 i SECTION 2 . Authorization. 5 (a) The Mayor, City Attorney and appropriate City staff are i 6 hereby authorized and directed to initiate the proceedings for andi the preparation of necessary documents for the exchange of g Redevelopment Agency owned Central City North Parcels No. 134- 9 1131-06 and 15 for Parcel Nos. 140-291-10 & 11, located within i i 10 iCentral City North Expansion Survey Area, for the development of a tl building for the Social Security Administration. t2 (b) The Mayor, City Attorney and appropriate City staff are 13 hereby authorized and directed to coordinate with the Redevelop- 14 ment Agency for the preparation of the necessary documents for an i 15 amendment to the Parking District Lease, eliminating Parcels No. i 16 134-131-06 and 15 from the Parking District and substituting, 17 within a reasonable period of time, alternative parcels of land, to i 18 The purchased from the proceeds derived from the eventual sale of I 19 Parcels 140-291-10 & 11. i 20 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly i 21 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San 22 Bernardino at a �t- ; '.t2q- meeting thereof , held F, 23 on the day of ,, :� .;, �� , 1980 , by the following 24 vote, to wit: i 25 . . . . .
