HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-034 RESOLUTION NO. 80-34 A PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO CONFIRMING THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3180 of the City of San Bernardino empowers the Mayor to proclaim the existence of a local emergency when said city is af- fected or is likely to be affected by a public calamity, and the Mayor and Common Council are not in session; and WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within the City of San Sernardino caused by floodwaters and debris, commencing on or about 10:00 p.m. on the 8th day of January, 1980, with extremely heavy damage occurring on or about 5:00 p.m. on the 14th day of January, 1980; and WHEREAS, t;ie San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors did proclaim the existence of a local emergency commencing on the 8th day of January, 198-.0, and the I'layor, due to the aggravated conditions of peril }which evolved, coMencing on the 14th day of January, 1980, did proclaim the existence of a local emergency and requested the Governor to proclaim a state of emergency; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council does hereby find that the afore- said conditions of peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency: 400, TUREFORE, I1 IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that the proclamation of a local emergency by the 'layor is ratified and shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San 3ernardino, State of California.
