2. Typist Clerk II (Williams, Toi Lynn) - Appointment
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
The incumbent was hired on June 2, 1998, on a temporary basis. At that time,
the need for clerical /reception services was identified.
On June 23, 1998, the Mayor and Common Council approved the consolidation
of the Planning & Building Services and Public Works Departments and creation
of the Development Services Department. This action included deletion of
several positions, as well as establishment of a full -time, permanent position of
Typist Clerk Il. The Typist Clerk II position is necessary in order to provide the
first point of contact with the public to ensure that customers receive timely
service and are efficiently directed to the appropriate staff member. In addition to
reception services, this position provides clerical support to other staff members
and assists in routing daily mail.
Since the position has been established as a regular, full -time position and the
incumbent has provided satisfactory service to the department and public and is
felt to be the best applicant, the department would like to appoint her to the
position.
