Synousis of Previous Commission/Council/Committee Action(s):
On January 10, 1994,the Community Development Commission approved amending the existing five-minute public
comments time limit and agenda items time limit to three-minutes with possible extensions of time of two-minutes.
On March 21, 1994, the Community Development Commission referred this matter to the Legislative Review
Committee.

MOTION: That the Community Development Commission amend its prior action regarding public comments
related to items on the Commission agenda from three-minutes per person per item, with the
possibility of two-minute extensions granted in the Commission's sole discretion, to one two-
minute extension per person per meeting to be exercised at the sole option of the speaker. Special
presentations exceeding the stipulated time limits wLTHY-b.ZSTEINHAUS
by Mayor and/or
Commission.

Public Comments at Commission Meetings
On January 10, 1994, the Community Development Commission reviewed and approved the
amending of the existing five-minute time limit on public comments and comments regarding
items on the agenda to three-minutes, with possible time extensions of two-minutes. It is now
recommended that the Commission's action of January 10, 1994 be further amended to restrict
the two-minute time extensions to one extension per person per meeting as exercised at the sole
option of the affected speaker.
Based upon the foregoing, Councilman Curlin recommends adoption of the form motion.
