CITY ,OF SAN BERN! _1DINO - REQUEST V I COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
F-94-15
The proposed purchase is for light bars and accessories for the
police patrol vehicles to be utilized in daily operations by the
Police Department.
At the request of the department, appropriate specifications were
prepared, published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were
publicly opened and declared on March 8, 1994 . The following is a
summary of bids received.
COMPANY TOTAL BID (INCLUDING TAX)
*Hi Standard Automotive $28, 817 .90
Adamson Industries No Bid
All State Police Equipment No Bid
Pursuit $36, 179.22
Eleven (11) suppliers of this commodity were solicited. Four (4)
vendors responded. There were two (2) no bids. Neither of the
remaining two vendors responded to the bid bond requirement. To re-
bid for lack of a bid bond serves no purpose. Therefore, the
Purchasing Agent recommends wavier of the bid bond requirement in
this particular case.
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Police Department
who concurs that the bid of Hi Standard Automotive meets
specifications and requirements. It is therefore recommended that
the bid be accepted for contract. The equipment funding is in the
FY 1993/94 budget.
