STAFF REPORT
AUTHORIZE ACCEPTANCE OF
PAYMENT OF INSURANCE PREMIUM
IN LIEU OF RENTAL FEES --
FDR BOWL BY JUNIOR UNIVERSITY.
Junior University has applied for the use of FDR Bowl in
Perris Hill Park from May 1 through August 9, 1994 for its
annual performance. By Resolution, rental fees for this use
would be an estimated $5, 068.
Junior University has been conducting youth theatre at FDR
Bowl for over two decades. Attendance exceeds 15, 000 each
summer. Junior University has acquired a $1 million liability
policy. They have requested that the premium costs for this
policy be accepted in lieu of the rental costs due to the high
cost for the insurance.
This request is in conformance with the conditions of
Resolution 91-35 for waiver of fees.

John Kramer
San Bernardino City Parks and Recreation Department

Dear Mr. Kramer,
Junior University, a non-profit organization, will again
present our family summer theater at Roosevelt Bowl in Perris
Hill Park. This, our 32nd year, production will be "Jungle
Book" and our dates of production will be July 22nd through
August 6th, 1994. We will be utilizing the facility for audi-
tions in May and begin rehearsals in June.
We are again requesting that the City accept the Junior
University's payment of the insurance premium in lieu of the
rental fees for the use of Roosevelt Bowl. Junior University
is providing a $1 ,000,000.00 comprehensive liability policy
that also covers the City. The premium on this policy is very
costly and additional expense of rental costs would make our
financial arrangements extremely difficult.
We appreciate your consideration and assistance with re-
gard to this request.
Sincerely,
G
Susan A. Johnston
