The Board of Directors recently changed the name of the orchestra from Inland Empire to San Bernardino to emphasize the home base of the region' s premier professional orchestra. Last year' s first New Years Eve Gala provided more financial support than any other single fund raising event and will become a yearly tradition. Orchestra members provided free chamber concerts at noon this past summer in Carousel Mall, giving many citizens a first-time chance to view professionals playing classical music. The orchestra contributes much to San Bernardino in artistic excellence with its concomitant impact on both the esteem of the city and the furtherance of economic development in the city.
