CITY OF SAN BERN,' WINO - REQUEST F R COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF FEES
IN THE AMOUNT OF $ 580 FOR
USE OF SECCOMBE LAKE PARK
BY THE CAMP FIRE BOYS AND
GIRLS.
The Camp Fire Boys and Girls, San Andreas Council is sponsoring a special fund raising jog-a-
thon at Seccombe Lake Park. The fee for use of the facilities and equipment for this event is
$ 580. The San Andreas Council has requested that the fees be waived. (Please see the attached
letter from the Program Coordinator, Kathy Yesensky.)
Resolution No. 91-35 allows the Mayor and the Common Council to exempt non-profit
corporations and associations organized primarily for patriotic, civic betterment or charitable
purposes from the rates and fee schedules for use of parks and recreation facilities, services and
equipment under the condition that paying the fees would create a hardship and if the event is
of unusual benefit to the citizens of San Bernardino.
The Camp Fire Boys and Girls Council is a non-profit organization. The planned event will
raise funds to continue to provide their programs which provide positive experiences for the
youth of San Bernardino. Therefore, they do meet the qualification for having the fees for the
use of facilities and equipment waived in the interest of providing a positive activity to youths
in our community.
