Description) Street Improvements - 9th St. and Wilson Street Finance: Council Notes: 75-0262 Agenda Item No. CITY OF SAN BERNA -DINO - REQUEST FC 1 COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT A complaint was received in our office relative to the condition of the street improvements at the intersection of 9th Street and Wilson Street. Cross gutters have been constructed, within the north half of 9th Street; to drain water from the Past and west curb lines of Wilson Street. Within the south half of 9th Street, these cross gutters merge at the southwest curb return. A field review of this intersection revealed that the riding qualities for eastbound vehicles are very poor, due to the adverse grades created as a result of the merging cross gutters. Also; that a section of the east cross gutter, within the north half of 9th Street, has failed, which results in poor riding qualities for westbound vehicles . Our recommendation is that the cross gutters within the south half of 9th Street be removed, and replaced with a common cross gutter, and that the failed section be removed and replaced. The preliminary estimate of cost for these improvements is $12 , 000 . Funding to finance the cost that will be incurred could be provided by transferring $12 , 000 from the available balance for rehabilitating the pavement on Redlands Boulevard, from Hunts Lane to the Fast Cite limits. 1-27--94 5.0264
