Recommended Motion:
That Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Bob Britton, Inc. ,
for in-fill street improvements, in accordance with Plan No. 8842,
be approved; to include street improvements and a pedestrian
walkway ramp on Sierra Way, North of 44th Street, at an estimated
increase in the contract pr' e of $21 , 764 . 00• $364, 186 . 80 to
$386, 186 . 80 .

STAFF REPORT
In-Fill Street Improvements on
Arterial & Collector Streets
Plans were prepared several years ago for installation of
sidewalk on Sierra Way (West side) , north of 44th Street. Other
items of work, such as curb and gutter, in-fill paving, retaining
wall and handrail, are required in connection with installation
of sidewalk. In addition, a ramp must be provided to maintain
access to Sierra Way for the pedestrian easement dedicated by the
adjoining subdivision.
These improvements were not constructed, due to insufficient
funds and a lack of consensus among the residents of the
adjoining tract over if pedestrian access should continue to be
provided to Sierra Way.
Installation of this section of sidewalk could be accomplished
under the contract with Bob Britton, Inc. , for construction of
in-fill street improvements. A price quote of $21 , 764. 00 has
been submitted for installation of this sidewalk and appurtenant
facilities . We have reviewed the price quote and found it to be
in accordance with current pricing trends .
We recommend that Change Order No. One be approved. A change
order will be needed since installation of this sidewalk on
Sierra Way entails some items of work not included in the
contract bid items.
