(#4264) Current Business Registration Certificate: Not Applicable Financial Impact: The increase in salary and benefits of$9,000 will be absorbed within the current City Clerk's overall operating budget for Fiscal Year 2015-16. Motion: Adopt the Resolution. Background: The City Clerk's Office experienced a severe reduction in staff in July 2012, to reduce department expenditures as the City faced bankruptcy. Several positions were eliminated and the duties of those positions were absorbed by remaining staff. The immediate need to bring back the Business Registration Accounting Technician position is essential so revenue accounting audits associated with business registration can be sustained. RECOMMENDATION 1. Add one (1) position of Business Registration Accounting Technician (U), Range 3414, $3,500 - $4,254/month to the City Clerk's table of organization. 2. Reclassify one (1) Business Registration Representative (U), Range 3384, $3.013 - $3,663/month, to Business Registration Accounting Technician (U), Range 3414, $3,500 - $4,254/month. 3. Delete one (1) classification of Business Registration Representative (U) from the ` City's Clerk's table of organization. 4. Authorize the Human Resources Division Manager to update Resolution Nos. 97- 244 and 2011-218 to reflect these changes. 5. Authorize the City Manager's Office to amend the FY 2015-16 budgets to reflect these changes.
