Andrew Strebel began work for the City of San Bernardino Fire Department in February E
2007 as a Paramedic/Firefighter. He promoted to Fire Engineer on February 7, 2012.
Mr. Strebel opted to seek employment with another agency and separated from the City Q
on July 6, 2015.
Mr. Strebel has since had a change of heart and wishes to resume his career as a Fire
Engineer with the City of San Bernardino. Due to attrition within the department, we do
have an Engineer vacancy to afford him this opportunity. Mr. Strebel's breadth of
knowledge and previous favorable employment history with the City makes him a
welcome addition upon return to the Fire Department.

Matthew Newberry will fill the vacant position of Fire Prevention Officer. This vacancy
resulted in the promotion of Judy Croteau effective 11/03/2015. In order to ensure proper
staffing in the Fire Prevention Bureau and timely delivery of inspections and related w
duties, it is critical that this position be filled. ¢
Mr. Newberry is the next most qualified candidate having successfully completed a
competitive testing process involving both a written and oral examination. We are
confident that Mr. Newberry will be an excellent addition to the current staff of the Fire
Department.
