STAFF REPORT
Bids for rehabilitation of pavement on portions of
University Parkway, Waterman Avenue and Mill Street, were opened
at 2 : 00 p.m. , Tuesday, 6-4-96 .
A total of 3 bids were received, ranging from $324 , 392 . 61
to $392 , 150 . 83 . The low bid of $324 ,392 . 61 is 12 . 9% under the
Engineer' s Estimate of $372 , 534 .
Below is an estimate of the total project cost, based
upon the actual low bid price: -
Construction Contract $ 324 ,392 . 61
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1521) 55 , 880 . 00
Sub-Total $ 380 , 272 . 61
Contingencies (15%) ± 57 , 727 . 39
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 438 ,000 . 00
All costs incurred for this project will be charged to
the $500 , 000 allocated in the 1995/96 1/2-Cent Sales Tax Fund,
under Account No. 129-367-5504-1521 .
We recommend that a contract be awarded to the low
bidder.
URGENCY CLAUSE:
It will be necessary for the contract for this project to be
awarded at the Council meeting of 6-17-96 , in order to ensure
that the work is completed during the summer break for San
Bernardino State University.
