STAFF REPORT
BACKGROUND
On August 21, 1995, at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor
and Common Council, Ordinance MC-950 was adopted. This ordinance
repeals in its entirety Municipal Code Chapter 13 . 16, Sewerage
System Rates; amends Municipal Code Section 13 . 32 . 050 (A) (22) (A) to
redefine a private dwelling unit; and amends Municipal Code Section
13 .32 . 180, Charges - Payment of Base Charges to exempt single
family residences not connected to a public sewer from paying base
charges .
Municipal Code Chapter 13 . 16 - Sewerage System Rates, was repealed
since a majority of this chapter has been duplicated in Section
13 . 32 . 180 of the Municipal Code .
The attached resolution amends Resolution 95-101, which set the
monthly sewer rates for residential, commercial, retail and
industrial users . The amending resolution deletes any reference to
the repealed Chapter 13 . 16, and deletes any reference for charges
to residences within the 200 feet of an existing sewer system and
not connected thereto. It does not adjust any of the sewer rates
as set in Resolution 95-101 .
In order to discontinue charging residential customers within 200
feet of an existing sewer system, this item is placed on the
Agenda.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends adopting the attached resolution that amends
Resolution 95-101 fixing and establishing charges for services and
facilities by the City sewerage collection and treatment system.
