STAFF REPORT
Residents of the Cimmaron Ranch Development have
requested that all streets exiting their area to the south be
closed. This request was based upon the high incidence of
crimes, particularly during daylight hours when the great
majority of residents in this development are at work.
After the residents were advised of the cost and
disruption that would be created to the neighborhood, as a result
Of closing these streets, they decided not to pursue this option
at the present time. However, they are very concerned over the
fact that access along the west side of Bronson Street, south of
Portola Avenue, is uncontrolled. This situation allows open
access to the Cimmaron Ranch Development for persons engaged in
illegal activities .
Installation of a 6-foot chain link fence, along Bronson
Street (as shown on the attached map) would provide access
control and alleviate the residents ' concerns.
The preliminary estimate of cost for installation of
about 200 feet of fencing is $4 , 000 .
It is recommended that the expenditure of $4 , 000 , from
Account No. 126-369-3405 , "Undesignated Balance, " be approved.
